The northern lights — also called aurora borealis — could be visible in Alaska, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, northern parts of Idaho, Wyoming, Iowa, New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.

According to the NOAA, 24 states, including Alaska, Montana and North Dakota, might have a chance to see the northern lights June 1 and June 2.

During G1 conditions, auroras can be visible across the most northern states in the U.S., like Michigan and Maine, but if G2 conditions are reached, auroras could stretch as far south as New York, South Dakota, and Idaho.
