The Clemson Tigers appear to have themselves a new defensive coordinator. According to a report from ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel, Clemson is working towards a deal to hire Penn State Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Tom Allen as their new defensive coordinator.

According to 247Sports, Tom Allen is poised to become Clemson's next defensive coordinator. Allen, currently serving as Penn State's defensive coordinator, has emerged as a top candidate in Dabo Swinney's search to replace Wes Goodwin.

Allen most notably spent seven years as Indiana’s head coach from 2017-23. This year, he worked as Penn State’s defensive coordinator and helped the school reach its first College Football Playoff under coach James Franklin.
