Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds approved the full state standings budget, Senate File 659, Wednesday after emergency response systems officials asked her to veto a provision over concerns it would lead to budget uncertainty for local 911 boards.
" . . . Senate File 383 includes expensive, unneeded provisions that are going to drive up the costs of pharmacy services in Iowa without any discernable improvement in patient care. Iowans – including businesses and employees – will bear these costs at the pharmacy counter and in the structure of their health care plans.
Law enforcement agencies and 911 operators across the state opposed the legislation, saying it would be a detriment to local emergency centers.
