New York Governor Kathy Hochul paused congestion pricing, but decided to revive the program starting on January 5 with a lower toll.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said a plan to charge drivers entering Manhattan’s central business district will launch Jan. 5 as scheduled after a federal judge largely rejected New Jersey’s challenge to the congestion pricing program.

The state had sued to stop New York’s plan to charge motorists entering Manhattan’s busiest roadways. Late Tuesday night, lawyers requested a temporary restraining order.
