Rescue planes and helicopters were sent out to coastal villages in western Alaska on Sunday as the remnants of Typhoon Halong swamped homes, trapping some residents.
The remnants of the storm leave behind devastation. At least 51 people were rescued, one person is dead and three more are unaccounted for.
One person has died and more than 50 people have been rescued after an unprecedented storm system triggered devastating flooding in Western Alaska communities, displacing more than a thousand people over the weekend.

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in Alaska was among the hardest hit, with severe flooding reported in Kipnuk, Kwigillingok, and Napakiak.
The people unaccounted for are from Kwigillingok, one of the communities devastated by the remnants of Typhoon Halong.
