Search warrants offer more details into CMPD’s investigation into the murder of Markayla Johnson and her two children.

Markayla Johnson, 22, and her 4-year-old, Miracle Johnson, and 7-month-old, Messiah Johnson, were last seen in the 400 block of Orchard Trace Lane in northeast Charlotte, police said.

CMPD sent out an alert on March 8 saying that 22-year-old Markayla Johnson and her two children, four-year-old Miracle and seven-month-old Messiah, were missing.

Benjamin Joseph Taylor, 34, has been charged with first-degree murder and failure to report death for the murders of Markayla Johnson, 22, her daughter Miracle, 4, and her baby Messiah, 7 months.
