The NCAA has charged the University of Memphis with academic integrity violations – committed by its men’s basketball and softball programs.

The University of Memphis athletic department has been put on probation for two years and fined $30,000 by the NCAA after an investigation found an academic counselor paid two softball players to help a men’s basketball player with schoolwork.

The Memphis men's basketball program has been placed on two-year probation by the NCAA after a former academic counselor paid two softball players to complete coursework for a basketball player, according to CBS Sports' Matt Norlander.
