The race is on for outgoing Mayor Mike Duggan's successor with the finish line being Election Day in November. Duggan is stepping down once his third term in office ends.

The former Detroit City Council president, who stepped away in 2014 to lead The Heat and Warmth Fund, is officially running to succeed Mike Duggan.

A longtime nonprofit executive and former president of the Detroit City Council is throwing her hat in the ring to be the city’s next mayor.

"We really are at the crossroads, and I think the next mayor will determine the trajectory of this City for decades to come," Jenkins said.
