The NHL Players' Association says it has filed an appeal on Ryan Hartman's behalf after the Minnesota Wild forward was suspended 10 games for roughing.

Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman was suspended 10 games for roughing Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stützle, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Monday night, following a sequence that the league ultimately determined was "not a hockey play.

Ryan Hartman's 10-game suspension comes as the Minnesota Wild are without their top player and are tight in cap space. It could alter their playoff picture, says Adam Proteau.
