NTSB has released the final investigation report for a plane that made an emergency landing in Cape Coral in February 2024, finding that an ill-fitting fuel line may have been the cause.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by the FAA and NTSB, authorities said the pilot took off from Fullerton Airport at about 2:00 p.m. and immediately climbed to 900 feet. The plane crashed roughly 1000 feet away from the runway.

Robert Harris Coles was identified as the pilot killed in a plane crash Monday night in Adams County. He was the only person in the plane.

A pilot flying a private plane told air traffic controllers that he “lost” the engine twice before fatally crashing onto Interstate 684 earlier this month, according to a report released Tuesday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The National Transportation Safety Board said last November’s plane crash at Doylestown Airport was a demonstration flight for a potential buyer of the Beechcraft aircraft.
