A malnourished spider monkey was rescued from a DUI suspect’s Rolls Royce and is now recovering at Oakland Zoo, with authorities addressing both DUI and illegal exotic pet possession charges.

A baby monkey was rescued by CHP officers earlier this week from a suspected DUI driver in the Central Valley. Primates are illegal to own as pets in California. The tiny monkey is currently living at the Oakland Zoo and receiving vital veterinary care.
