OU softball is preparing to open its fourth consecutive national championship defense season. However, the Sooners are ushering in a new era with 14 new players. Coach Patty Gasso was forced to replace the core of the program’s four-peat dynasty.

Utah transfer Abigale Dayton joined sophomores Ella Parker and Kasidi Pickering as Oklahoma’s honorees. Both Pickering and Parker were voted as Preseason First Team All-Americans by Softball America and D1Softball, and Dayton earned Preseason Second Team All-American recognition from both publications.
