The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs announced that Trixie will be one of over 100 pups featured in Animal Planet's 21st annual event on Feb. 9.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (7News) — A local dog from Alexandria, Virginia, is ready to steal hearts and touchdowns in Puppy Bowl XXI! Abigail, a Labrador Retriever mix from Operation Paws for Homes in Alexandria, has been chosen as a player for Team Fluff in the 2025 lineup.

Puppy Bowl XXI will host 142 dogs from 80 shelters looking to win the Lombarky trophy, among other awards, and raise awareness about the joys of pet adoption. Puppy Bowl 2025 will air on Feb. 9 on Animal Planet.

Aurelia is a member of Team Fluff in the annual call-to-adoption event that will air on the afternoon of the Super Bowl, Sunday, Feb. 9.

The Steel City will be well represented on the gridiron in February despite the Pittsburgh Steelers being out of the NFL playoffs. Centaur, a mixed breed from Animal Friends was one of the pups drafted from rescue groups nationwide to play in Puppy Bowl XXI.

Feb. 9, Puppy Bowl XXI will feature a number of dogs from animal rescue organizations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Three pups from Paws Across Pittsburgh and one pup from Animal Friends were selected for the rosters of Puppy Bowl XXI. From Paws Across Pittsburgh, Sully and Mercury will be on Team Fluff, while Franco will wear the Team Ruff bandana. Centaur, from Animal Friends, will also represent Team Fluff.

Three puppies from Paws Across Pittsburgh will be competing in Puppy Bowl XXI on Animal Planet. Tom Brady’s transition into the world of commentary hasn’t been the smoothest ride, and it appears to be hitting new bumps along the way.
