Both UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski and his coach are on board with Movsar Evloev getting the next title shot.

Alexander Volkanovski is UFC featherweight champion once again. Volkanovski defeated Diego Lopes by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 314 to capture the vacant title. Were there concerns that Volkanovski may have been gun-shy after suffering nasty knockouts to Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria in back-to-back fights,

After Volkanovski's victory, there's a lot of debate as to who's next. Undefeated Russian grappler Movsar Evloev is the obvious No. 1 contender, but he seems to have done something to addle the UFC matchmakers. He wasn't mentioned much in the lead-up to UFC 314, and was actually briefly linked to a fight with debuting Bellator export Aaron Pico.
