Pakistan’s government says the national cricket team will be allowed to take part in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup but must boycott its group game against arch rival India.

Ishan Kishan's century and Suryakumar Yadav's fifty helped the Indian team post a mammoth 271/5 on the board against New Zealand in the 5th and final T20I match of the series in Thiruvananthapuram.

Much of Pakistan’s hopes rested on opener Sameer Minhas, who after hitting a whirlwind 172 in the Asia Cup final, had been their in-form batsman in the World Cup.
