UK surgeons have been asked by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons to stop performing Brazilian butt lifts because of the high mortality rate associated with the procedure.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons say the Brazilian butt lift is the most dangerous form of plastic surgery, with one in 3,000 dying from having the procedure done.

What is it? “Brazilian butt lift” refers to the fat-grafting procedure employed to amp up the size of your backside (not to be confused with butt implants, which are another story entirely).
