The Lenovo Legion Go S boasts a new ergonomic design and strong components. But the fact that it's the first third-party device to have SteamOS as an option could make it the greatest handheld in 2025.

The Legion Go S is a streamlined PC gaming handheld and the first with SteamOS since Steam Deck; the Go 2 is a full sequel. The Legion Pro 7i gaming laptop also gets a silicon boost.

Lenovo's Legion gaming laptops have been some of the best options over the past few years, and the company is announcing a refreshed lineup for CES 2025.

The Lenovo Legion Go starts at $699.99 / £700 (inc. VAT) / AU$1,299 for the base model that features 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with availability in the US, UK, and Australia. The more expensive model goes for $749.99 and ups the storage to 1TB, though there are some regional differences in specs and pricing.

Lenovo is already announcing one new handheld (or two depending on how you’re counting) at CES 2025. However, that isn’t stopping the company from looking ahead to its next portable gaming device by teasing an early prototype of the Legion Go 2.

Lenovo showed off the Legion Go S, which will come in two different versions: a Windows 11 model and a SteamOS model, which is the first of its kind from a third-party manufacturer.

Valve worked with Lenovo to make it a reality — though there’s a Windows version, too.

Three new Lenovo Legion Go handhelds are inbound, including SteamOS model and a new OLED version armed with a Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU.
