BERGAMO, Italy (AP) — Daniel Maldini, the son of soccer great Paolo Maldini, completed his move to title-chasing Atalanta from bottom-club Monza on Saturday.

Paolo Maldini retired from international soccer following the 2002 World Cup. He played 126 times for Italy. Cesare Maldini's last Italy appearance was in 1963, and he also coached the Azzurri.

He is the son of soccer great Paolo Maldini. Italian media reports that Atalanta have paid Monza 13 million euros for the 23-year-old Maldini and half of that fee is going to his old club AC Milan.
