The group focuses on Mexican folkloric dance lessons for boys and girls, bringing to life the stories and culture.

Her mother insisted she take time to learn the traditional dances in between hip hop lessons, and she also founded Ballet Folklórico Tayahua, a professional dance troupe and studio in Waukegan.

One fellow says he has a clean copy of Jarvis playing the “Star-Spangled Banner” and a copy of her “Mexican Hat Dance,” from an NBC World Series feed back in 1969, minus the commercials.
