Her mother insisted she take time to learn the traditional dances in between hip hop lessons, and she also founded Ballet Folklórico Tayahua, a professional dance troupe and studio in Waukegan.
One fellow says he has a clean copy of Jarvis playing the “Star-Spangled Banner” and a copy of her “Mexican Hat Dance,” from an NBC World Series feed back in 1969, minus the commercials.
