A proposal in the Pentagon’s fiscal year 2027 budget request could raise the special combat pay from $225 to $450.

The pay raise is part of the White House’s proposed $1.5 trillion national defense budget for next fiscal year, which starts on Oct. 1.

Though the president’s fiscal 2027 budget proposal calls for a 7% pay raise for military service members, it fails to mention civilian federal employee compensation.
