Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra has shared his thoughts on “Kraven the Hunter” and “Madame Web” bombing at the box office. Vinciquerra, 70, spoke about the movies during an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Thursday,

"For some reason, the press decided that they didn’t want us making these films out of 'Kraven' and 'Madame Web,' and the critics just destroyed them."

The film was received poorly by audiences and critics, earning a record worst box office opening for a Sony superhero film at the time of its release.

No one wants to end a seven-and-a-half-year run at a major Hollywood studio with an all-timer dud… but, unfortunately, Sony Pictures put out Kraven the Hunter just a few short weeks before CEO Tony Vinciquerra’s last day on the job.
