A previously unaired Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention television special from 1974 is finally being released after sitting in the late artist’s vaults for more than 50 years.

A long-in-the-vaults Frank Zappa television special, recorded in June 1974 but never aired, will finally be released next month.

Chester Thompson – later of Weather Report and Genesis – is on drums while Ruth Underwood dazzles on vibes and percussion.
