South Carolina remains in a state of emergency and winter weather advisory as precipitation ends and cold temps are expected to linger through the week.

At least 2-4 inches of snow is expected across the area, with locally higher totals of 8-12 inches where heaviest band of snow develops.

The storm is forecast to begin on Friday night.

While forecasters are uncertain on when and where snow may fall, confidence is increasing that low pressure system could hit South Carolina Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
