The Pittsburgh region received a weekend blast of winter weather, including heavy snowfall in many places south of Pittsburgh. KDKA-TV's Chilekasi Adele reports from Washington County.
The heaviest snowfall was reported in Jefferson County, where Copenhagen recorded 8.5 inches, the highest total statewide. Nearby areas east of Lake Ontario also saw significant snow, including Oswego (5.5 inches) and Mexico in Oswego County (4.8 inches).
The outlook for significant snowfall at Colorado ski resorts through the end of the year remains grim, even as most resorts report severely limited terrain offerings. Early January doesn’t look good, either, according to OpenSnow founding meteorologist Joel Gratz.

As of 1 p.m., 2.7 inches of snow had fallen at Belvedere Castle in Central Park, the official National Weather Service measuring station for the city. That made Sunday the earliest date of the season since 2018 that more than two inches of snow had accumulated in Central Park.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for NYC, parts of New Jersey, and Connecticut, with peak snowfall rates of 1–2 inches per hour. Snowfall could exceed 10 inches in some areas.
