TWIN LAKES, Mich. (WLUC) - One of Houghton County’s busiest campgrounds will not be open this season. Twin Lakes State Park is preparing for a $2.6 million construction project this summer.
Nick and Melissa Gursslin said they were at Twin Lakes Campground on June 6 when a bear swam right up to their campsite at around 11:00 a.m.
In order to safely and efficiently conduct this work, the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District will be closing access to North Twin Lake Day Use Area and Campground during the maintenance project.
