Former Wisconsin quarterback Braedyn Locke is headed to Arizona. Locke announced his decision in a post on X, giving the Wildcats two veteran quarterbacks with Noah Fifita returning.

MADISON – Braedyn Locke is heading to the Big 12. The former Wisconsin quarterback announced Friday his commitment to Arizona, a 4-8 team this season that is led by second-year coach Brent Brennan.

Locke entered the portal amid that movement. He now joins an Arizona program that went 4-8 in 2024 in its first year in the Big 12 — also the first year under head coach Brent Brennan. Starting quarterback Noah Fifita is set to return for 2025, making Locke a primary backup option with the chance to win the job in 2026.

If there was any doubt that Wisconsin would have a new starting quarterback next season Braedyn Locke removed it Wednesday afternoon. The redshirt sophomore quarterback announced on social media that he plans to enter the transfer portal.

Locke now joins an Arizona team coming off a 4-8 season under first-year head coach Brent Brennan. While incumbent starter Noah Fifita is expected to return in 2025, Locke will likely compete for the backup role with a chance to contend for the starting job in 2026 if everything breaks right.

The Arizona Wildcats could have a quarterback competition brewing this offseason after landing a signal caller out of the transfer portal. Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Braedyn Locke announced via social media that he is joining the Wildcats after two seasons in the Badgers program during which he appeared in 15 games.
