Heavy winds that swept through Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park on Sunday night started “rapid fire spread” after a relatively slow day of growth, according to fire officials.

New evacuation orders at 3:50 p.m. Monday are for all private land areas between Mile Markers 128 and 131 along Highway 141 in Gateway. That's in addition to previous evacuation orders for all private land and areas between Mile Markers 120 and 128 along Highway 141.
