A group of Central Texas flood survivors, senators and community leaders will rally at the Texas State Capitol on Monday to push for legislation that could save lives during severe weather.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas lawmakers are back in Austin for a special session, and they have just 30 days to tackle a list of controversial and complex issues, including flooding recovery and preparedness. But analysts say the clock — and the politics — will be working against them.

The Texas Legislature will convene a 30-day special session on Monday to address 18 items outlined by Governor Greg Abbott, including flood relief, THC product regulation, and congressional redistricting.
