KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee has set a new softball record after Karlyn Pickens threw a 79.2 mph pitch on Saturday, setting the record for the fastest pitch ever thrown in softball history during the game against Nebraska in game 2 of the Knoxville Super Regionals.

As a team, the Huskers tallied five hits and left four runners on base, while Tennessee managed four hits and left three runners on base.
