These are the people flying flags from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, South Korea and other places during the Los Angeles protests.
As violence erupted out of immigration enforcement protests in Los Angeles over the weekend, images of protestors waving Mexican flags became a focal point of the coverage and for the Trump administration's reaction.
It’s Flag Day, a day that honors the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777. The original resolution declared the flag would have 13 alternating red and white stripes and a blue field with 13 white stars, representing a new constellation — a powerful symbol of unity and independence that continues to fly proudly today.
As the protests continue, Mexico's flag has made several appearances. However, the waving of this flag expands beyond support for immigrants in the country.
