A sneak peek of Downton Abbey 3 at CinemaCon earlier this year promised emotional upheaval with the assurance of "plenty of tears" and the "heartbreaking" recognition that the conclusion is nearing for the beloved period drama.

Creator Julian Fellowes confirmed "The Grand Finale" will be set in the same universe as his other beloved series, "The Gilded Age."
