Cleveland took Tennessee shortstop Dean Curley with pick No. 64 before calling on Arizona outfielder Aaron Walton with pick No. 66. When it came time to use the No. 70 pick they acquired from the Diamondbacks in December in the Josh Naylor trade, they took right-hander Will Hynes out of Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

ATLANTA (WKBN) – The Cleveland Guardians selected five players in the first three rounds of the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday night. Cleveland had two Competitive Balance B draft choices at 67 and 70, giving them two more than the number of rounds on day one.

The Guardians drafted Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette with their first choice Sunday night. He’s a 6-foot-6, 240-pound outfielder with power and athleticism to make scouts salivate. Earlier this year, his name surfaced in chatter about the No. 1 pick.
