First responders were called to the Sedgwick County Jail Wednesday morning after an inmate was found unresponsive in a jail cell.

An inmate was found unresponsive in their cell at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Branden Stitt said. The Wichita Fire Department arrived at 8:55 a.m. and pronounced the inmate deceased, he said.
Inmate dies at Sedgwick County Jail
An inmate died Wednesday morning at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility. The sheriff’s office said around 8:45 a.m., an inmate was found unresponsive in their cell. Detention and medical staff immediately initiated life-saving measures.
Sedgwick County identifies Textron employee who died at facility
Upon arrival, firefighters and EMS personnel found a 61-year-old man in a facility paint booth, wearing a ventilator mask and not breathing. Life-saving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at 12:28 p.m. On Tuesday, he was identified as Rocky Baldwin of Wichita.
