A Stockton vigil united 200 people to honor mass shooting victims, with faith leaders and the mayor urging community solidarity and support for affected families.

Ann Mitchell, a trustee at The National Federation of Women's Institutes, attended the Beverley vigil and said: "The message is really, no more silence. This is about bringing out into the light the domestic abuse and gender-based violence across the world."

Sam Anatra, whose parents were found dead Nov. 19, said: "I appreciate all the support that we received from the community."

Officer Alec Sanders, who had been with the Alhambra Police Department for just eight months, was covering the shift of a colleague when he was fatally injured. He previously worked for about a year with the Long Beach Police Department.

Friends and family gathered in Aurora on Monday to remember the life of 23-year-old Lennard Dawson Jr. Relatives have identified him as the victim of an auto-pedestrian crash in Aurora last week.

A vigil for Bailey, the dog who was found inside a garbage can and eventually died, will be held on Sunday afternoon.
