Alabama football could have a handful of players back for its first round meeting against Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff.

Trailing 28-21 early in the third quarter, Alabama outscored the Tigers 21-0 after touchdown runs from Roydell Williams, Jalen Milroe and Jase McClellan to secure the 42-28 win. The Crimson Tide defense allowed 478 yards of offense, including 382 combined yards from LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who had 163 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Alabama faces a tough stretch in the middle of October. The Crimson Tide will host Georgia on Oct. 10 before traveling to Knoxville for its annual "Third Saturday in October" date with Tennessee. Alabama will return home Oct. 24 for its first home date against Texas A&M since 2022.

As soon as Ty Simpson stepped up to the podium Monday, Dec. 15, days away from the Crimson Tide's first round CFP game against Oklahoma, the Alabama football quarterback was asked about his health. Simpson's answer was quick and to the point. "Yeah, I'm great," Simpson said.

DeBoer and the Crimson Tide's chief focus can now be on the Sooners after a previous loss to Oklahoma last month put Alabama in several playoff elimination games down the stretch. The Crimson Tide suffered three giveaways during that 23-21 setback in Tuscaloosa despite doubling Oklahoma in total yardage and largely dominating the contest.
