The New York Jets aren't the only team looking to fill a head coach vacancy, which means New York will have to find a bargaining advantage.
The Jets were already searching for a new head coach. Former Tennessee Titans bench boss Mike Vrabel is available and he had an interview in New York last week. More noteworthy: Vrabel, 49, is a former Patriots player as well and the speed his former team moved on from Mayo sure does look like Vrabel is on their radar.

On Tuesday, the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed reported that Vrabel will interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching position. This comes after Friday’s news that Vrabel interviewed with the New York Jets. ESPN’s Adam Schefter added that the Bears, Jets, Saints and Patriots are all counted among the teams interested in Vrabel.

There are 12 candidates and counting that have been reported to have already interviewed or have interviews on the books with the Jets as of Monday afternoon. Mike Vrabel, who most recently was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018-23, had reportedly a positive interview in New York.
