Standing in the locker room at Xfinity Mobile Arena after the Flyers’ loss, defenseman Cam York said of the visiting Winnipeg Jets, “They played a good road game.” It’s a term heard repetitively in the NHL.

Mark Scheifele scored a pair of goals to tie the record for the most career points in Jets franchise history, Connor Hellebuyck made 15 saves, and Winnipeg beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2.

After falling behind by a 2-0 score in the second period, the Flyers got on the board. A two-on-one rush developed. Owen Tippett had Christian Dvorak on his flank but chose to shoot and beat Connor Hellebuyck from the right circle at 16:22.

Scheifele matched Wheeler with his second goal of the game, which gave the Jets a 4-1 lead at 9:40 of the third period. With the Jets on a power play, Connor made a seam pass to Scheifele, who was open for a one-timer from the left face-off circle.

Rick Tocchet all but confirmed the defenseman would return to the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets at morning skate. Emil Andrae has been loaned to AHL Lehigh Valley to make room for York.
