You can in Google’s latest app, Verne: The Himalayas. Google’s Creative Labs is utilizing the vast collection of 3D imagery from Google Maps for educational purposes.
“Verne: The Himalayas” was built by Googlers who tested the concept with their own children, and used Google Maps’ 3D imagery along wtih the Unity game engine, according to the app’s website.
The result is a new Android app called Verne: The Himalayas. It’s sort of like a cross between a really simple mobile game and a 3D map of the world’s highest mountain range.
