Maya Hernandez is now facing a murder accusation after the District Attorney's office filed a motion to add the charge ahead of Tuesday's preliminary hearing.

Fernando Jara, the husband of 5th District Supervisor Leticia Perez, pleaded not guilty Tuesday afternoon, arraigned on charges of making criminal threats, child cruelty, and resisting arrest.
