The India Meteorological Department forecasts cold wave conditions across North India, with significant temperature drops and severe cold day conditio

North India, including the capital Delhi, will see a chilly start to the New Year, with the weather office predicting a significant drop in minimum temperatures across several regions. Heavy rains at the fag end of the year will only intensify the ongoing cold wave conditions in the first week of 2025.

Delhi logged 30.2 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Friday. The total rainfall received by Delhi in the month this year is 42.8 mm marking the highest rainfall in December in the last 15 years.

In it's forecast, the IMD stated that minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 3-5 degrees celsius over Northwest India

North India, including Delhi, is expected to experience a chilly New Year with a significant drop in temperatures, according to the IMD. Cold wave conditions are predicted in regions including Jammu-Kashmir,
