As previously mentioned, the Giro d'Italia will start in Albania in 2025. The first grand tour of the year postponed its route presentation in November by a month, after which the rumors exploded for weeks.

Albania will host the opening three stages of the race, which begins on 9 May, with the first one taking the riders from Durres to Tirana, before an individual time trial in the capital city and the third stage begins and ends in Vlore.

The start of the 2025 Giro d’Italia will take place in Albania, the race’s organiser confirmed on Monday. RCS Sport is still set to release the full race route for next year, in a ceremony in Rome on 13 January.
