President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to lift a lower court order that barred U.S. government agents from making immigration-related arrests in Los Angeles based on tactics that critics have called racial profiling.

The Trump administration wants agents to use several profiling factors during immigration raids in LA, arguing that speaking Spanish or working in construction is more likely to mean a person is in the United States without permission.

Trump officials asked the justices to immediately halt the order from U.S. District Judge Maame E. Frimpong in Los Angeles. She found a “mountain of evidence” that enforcement tactics were violating the U.S. Constitution in what the plaintiffs called “roving patrols.”
