JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The LSU women’s track and field team closed out their final day of action at the NCAA East First Round on Saturday, hosted by North Florida at Hodges Stadium. The women punched nine tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on day four, bringing the total to 12 entries in Eugene for the women.
LSU Shreveport’s dream was in danger — 58-1 without a championship would have been the ultimate heartbreaker — when it fell behind 4-0 in the second inning of the championship game. The Pilots didn’t take the lead for good until a five-run outburst in the sixth.
