The tragic death of Correction Officer Andy Lansing at the Ross Correctional Institution (RCI) on Christmas morning has sparked urgent calls for accountability from the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association (OCSEA).

A Ross County corrections officer was fatally assaulted by an inmate on Christmas morning, prompting the union representing state correction officers to demand action and address violence and accountability in the state's correction facilities.

The inmate involved in the tragic death of a Ross County corrections officer has been identified as Rashawn Cannon. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC), Cannon was serving time for felonious assault and weapons under disability charges.
