Gaza’s Rafah border crossing with Egypt is buzzing with activity as limited travel to and from the territory is expected to resume after years of near-complete isolation.

Once the primary gateway to the rest of the world for Palestinians in Gaza, the crossing is now considered a lifeline for the tens of thousands in need of treatment outside the enclave.
