The first WNBA game at the United Center got off to an unfortunate start when Chicago Sky point guard and franchise icon Courtney Vandersloot went down with a knee injury just minutes into the team's matchup with the Indiana Fever.

The Indiana Fever took care of business with a blowout victory against the Chicago Sky in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup. While drama and tension has surrounded the rivalry between these two squads, it's been a one-sided matchup in 2025.

Last season, despite the team finishing with a 13-27 record, guard Chennedy Carter was one of the top scorers in the WNBA at 17.5 points per game, and led Chicago in that category. She is now playing in Mexico after not being on a WNBA roster to begin the 2025 season.
