Even as the overall job market remains strong, there has been a wave of recent layoffs in the tech and media industries — which just so happen to make up a core part of LinkedIn’s user base.

LinkedIn said the layoffs will impact about 668 roles in a press release. "Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business," the press release said.

LinkedIn is laying off 668 people across its engineering, product, talent and finance teams as part of a broader restructuring, the social media platform announced Monday.
