The Atlanta Falcons received an early Christmas gift from the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening. After defeating the New York Giants, 34-7, the Falcons got to sit back and watch as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were upset by the Cowboys in prime time.

FRISCO — Quarterback Cooper Rush had one of his best games of the season in the Cowboys’ win over the Panthers on Sunday. Rush led the offense to 30 points in the victory, the most for that group since the season opener against Cleveland (33-17). However, fumbles have become a concern.

Cooper Rush and the Dallas offense seem to be rounding into form, although it is almost certainly a case of too little, too late for the Cowboys to make a playoff push.

One would think that would mean Dallas would look to get younger players more reps in the final two games, including quarterback Trey Lance, the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL

Cooper Rush is making a good case to stay as Prescott's backup. If Rush can help pull an upset in either of the final two games at Philadelphia on Sunday or home against Washington, he'll have a winning record in three different seasons filling in for Dallas' injured star QB.

While they have been eliminated from postseason contention, it's Cooper Rush and the Cowboys who are standing between the Eagles and their 11th division title in the last 24 years.
