Zach Neto homered on the game’s first pitch and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers and All-Star pitcher Jacob deGrom 4-0.

Ron Washington, who has been sidelined with health issues since late June, said he's recovering from quadruple bypass heart surgery.

Washington managed the Rangers for eight years and led the club to its first two World Series trips. He resigned after the 2014 season as the team’s winningest manager with a 664–611 all-time record. The Angels hired him prior to last season.
