President Donald Trump faces the challenge of convincing Republican senators, global investors, voters and even Elon Musk that he won’t bury the federal government in debt with his multitrillion-dollar tax breaks package.

President Trump on Saturday said that he planned to withdraw his nomination of Jared Isaacman, a billionaire entrepreneur and close associate of Elon Musk’s, to be the next NASA administrator, days before Mr. Isaacman’s expected confirmation to the role by the Senate.

The right-wing podcaster admitted that the Tesla CEO threw the “baby out with the bathwater” by cutting too much, too fast.

Across multiple surveys, Musk's favorable ratings hover in the mid-30s to low-40s, with unfavorable ratings significantly higher.

Mr. Musk, who says he will devote more time to his private companies, never came close to achieving his goal of cutting $1 trillion from the federal budget.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) promised to subpoena Tesla CEO Elon Musk once her Democratic Party has the majority in the House, which she predicted could happen with the midterm elections. Musk finished working at the Department of Government Efficiency in the capacity of a non-career special government employee this past week.
